On Tuesday, March 3rd 2020, we celebrated International Women’s Day by hosting our 2nd Annual Breakfast for Brain Cancer. At this event we honoured women dedicated to the treatment of brain cancer and heard from a panel of experts from The Brain Cancer Group, Care2Cure.
We thank Bank of Sydney, our corporate partner and co-host of this event, our panel of experts, our generous sponsors and supporters and our guests, for your generosity and dedication to our effort in supporting the dedicated researchers in their quest to find a cure for this terrible disease.

Associate Professor Helen Wheeler
MEDICAL ONCOLOGIST
A/Prof Helen Wheeler is a Medical Oncologist specialising in primary brain tumours. A/Prof Wheeler gained her medical degree from the University of Sydney.
Dr Vanessa Sammons
NEUROSURGEON
Dr Vanessa Sammons is a Neurosurgeon at North Shore Private Hospital, Gosford Private Hospital, Brisbane Waters Private Hospital and the Sydney Adventist Hospital treating all neurosurgical conditions, but with a particular interest in Peripheral Nerve Surgery.
Marina Kastelan
NEURO-ONCOLOGY NURSE PRACTITIONER
Marina is TBCG’S Neuro Oncology Cancer Nurse Practitioner; and leads the grou’s care co-ordinating team. Marina is a key health professional who is assigned to patients diagnosed with brain tumours to assist them through their treatment.
